Madness...s-h-we-a-t madness

...for sometime I though that football was just like any other game that we have all been playing ever since we were young..whether for a trophy that you could display only for a while as it aged with fading and chipping gold painted plastic underneaths...but all in all it was something we all valued. I particularly enjoyed watching this one particular guy in our year play and I thought that at some point he would actually might get a shot in the national team or something. He had this incredible way of pulling some stances with the ball and a master of footworks that left everyone amazed perhaps the reason why he kept scoring so many of those goals!

Anyway that is not the whole point, I played volleyball ever since I knew that I could hit a ball and hit it well enough to make sure it fell on the other side of the net and into a zone where no one stood but within the border zones to ensure it was a score...not just that, at times I would ensure that if it was stopped the other person actually had to loose direction trying to hit it back to our half court! Twas great I tell you...then as we grew up, we realized that, sports was not just about fitness and the wellness of the mind, but for something more than the fake gold plated/ painted plastic trophy, that was to die for, but something else....competition, rivalry, winning, revenge mission.......cash....that is when I realized that you can never ever just cheers for the sake of a good game but for the sake of "my team" which in most cases have players that know nothing about you as a person at times, they may never know the existence of your own country or even have no clue where the country is on the world map?? Then why would I be interested in trying to play a game for the fun of it?

Let us take football for example...okay I am an Arsenal fan and am not a hater, if I watched a Man U game and they played really well, even if they lost, I would still appreciate the great game that they played. Let me admit, I have been in a total blackout the past few weeks and I have no idea which trophy is being played for currently, but one thing is for sure, when I listen to the radio station talk shows...top on the list is football!!!!

Come on guys, I may be stoned by saying that its just a game...but true...its just a game, let cheer on our teams and keep our sanity......
